A European project serving cultural inclusion

The Erasmus+ Art@Home> project aims to develop and experiment with artistic practices within domestic spaces. It addresses people in vulnerable situations by offering them an artistic experience that is aesthetic, relational and emotional, fostering meaning and social connection.

Led by a partnership bringing together social and artistic organisations from Italy and France, Art@Home follows an innovative approach to cultural inclusion, exploring new ways of bringing art into people’s everyday lives.

Artistic workshops at the heart of the home

In June and September 2025, artistic workshops were held in Italy and France. Eight older adults opened the doors of their homes to welcome dancers, musicians, actresses and social workers.

Drawing on personal objects, intimate memories and meaningful songs, participants co-created unique narratives and dramaturgical forms, deeply rooted in their life stories. These moments of exchange gave rise to sensitive creations, rich in emotion and memory.

“I really enjoyed reflecting on the people who had owned the object I showed you, especially my grandmother, to whom I was very attached.”

Next steps of the project

In the coming months, the Art@Home project will continue through several key actions:

  • the documentation of experiences and the evaluation of their impact, using shared indicators;
  • the organisation of a focus group with workshop participants to gather their feelings, impressions and emotions;
  • meetings in La Rochelle and Modena to bring together stakeholders around this topic;
  • the co-creation of a project methodology aimed at facilitating the implementation of home-based artistic workshops in other contexts.

Through Art@Home, art becomes a vector of connection, recognition and dignity, by meeting people where they live.
